RUSSO’S FAMILY PROMISE
“IF IT ISN’T FRESH, DON’T SERVE IT”
About Chef Russo
Italian Heritage
It All Started In The Russo’s Kitchen
Chef Anthony Russo, a son of Italian immigrants, grew up in New Jersey where family life revolved around the kitchen, rich with ingredients from their garden and traditions from Avellino, Italy. When his family moved to Galveston, Texas, in 1978, Anthony’s passion for cooking flourished in his father’s Italian restaurant. By 12, he was mastering family recipes, fueling his culinary passion.
The Entrepreneur Emerges
With a family legacy of hand-tossed dough, fresh sauce, and imported cheese, Anthony opened Russo’s Pizza in the early ’80s. Starting small with an 800 square foot space, he eventually expanded, opening Anthony’s Pizzeria in Clear Lake, Texas, before establishing Russo’s New York Pizzeria in downtown Houston in 1992. His dedication to classic Italian recipes and the perfect New York-style pizza cemented Russo’s as a beloved brand.
It’s All About The Family
In the heart of Italian tradition, the joy of gathering around the table is unmatched. Russo’s champions this essence, creating moments of joy, intimacy, and exquisite dining for friends and family alike. It’s more than just dining; it’s about the warmth, conversation, and belonging that beckon our guests back.
Generations In The Making
Chef Russo’s restaurants are a tribute to generations of family traditions, from authentic recipes to the welcoming atmosphere. Each dish, welcome, and interaction honors the legacy of his ancestors, ensuring their memory and traditions thrive within the community. Russo’s isn’t just about food; it’s about passing down a rich heritage of togetherness.
“Because our company holds our family name and family recipes, we’re dedicated to continuing the family tradition. Every day, I’m honored to have this legacy passed on to us.”
